Its been way too long since I have been on this page. I cannot believe that I have let it fall by the wayside for so long. I apologize for those who read these meek blogs for being absent!
What have we been doing? WOW, where to start....
* Eathon, the youngest son, has started his first season with select baseball team. His team is coming together and have won a couple of reserve championship silver rings. The spring season is winding down and summer season is getting things line out. Eathon is also a Pre-AP student and doing well in school.
* Tyler, the oldest son, is finishing up his second semester at college. He is doing great. Learning to step out on his own.
* Kyra-My Addison girl! Is there anything she cannot overcome? I believe the last time I wrote, Kyra was struggling. You know how it is, struggling to do, struggling to be involved, struggling to LIVE. In June 2014, Kyra had 15 good days in the ENTIRE month! Of those 15 days, she about 6 or so where she was active. Kyra and I began a nutritional supplement in July 2014. I can see a HUGE difference in both of us since this time. Kyra has began competing in rodeos, training her own horses for barrels and pole bending. She ended the 2015-2016 Texas High School Rodeo Association Region IV season 13th in pole bending!! I am so happy that she is finally LIVING the life she deserves! She is in dual credit courses as a 10th grader in high school, making A's in majority of her classes. She did earn her first B ever this year. :-) This summer she is training her new horse preparing for the upcoming THSRA season, determined to make state her Junior year.
Health wise: She still has good days and bad days. We do stress dose for the rodeos as its LOTS of work and stress on her both physically, mentally and emotionally. She is talking to her endocrinologist about the infusion pump and praying that he is open to it. He was not the first time that we mentioned it. He completely dismissed the thought. More information on the infusion pump as we find it out.
Now mom's story: I spent this past weekend learning more about the nutritional supplements that we take. It has been a very emotional weekend. Saturday we listened to Team Hoyt... as I listened to Mr. Hoyt, I thought about Kyra and all the others who face challenges and how STRONG they TRULY are. I am attaching a youtube video about Team Hoyt. TOGETHER WE CAN! We are our children's advocates! We are our children's strong tower. We are our children's support. We are our children's weakness also. I know that I struggle in letting go. Kyra is so independent and responsible and much more mature that most her age. Who am I kidding, she has to be. Her life depends on it. She is also just a kid and wants what other kids want, time away from us, her parents. That is so hard to let her have her space and know that she is going to take her medication, know that she is going to be safe, know that she has her medic alert on and know that she can treat herself in an emergency situation. So many dreams she has and I want her to accomplish ALL of them. She can. She is able and she is STRONG enough to do it. Mountains will move with her faith. Great things are in store for her and for ALL of our children. Our children are AMAZING! They have strength and inspire anyone who will hear their story. Mountains become molehills because they make the choice to KEEP GOING! I know that we can get knocked back from the day to day challenges and obstacles but find the silver lining. look at the strength and determination to keep fighting, to keep pushing forward. Crawling is still moving forward. Some days it is baby steps others its an all out sprint but overall it is a MARATHON. Keep going. Much love to all of you!
