After a very long trip to another specialist, pediatric endocrinologist, peace was achieved, answers were given, advice was taken and most importantly we were educated. I now feel that we can successfully handle or cope with Kyra's Addison's diease properly. We were given a prescription for Solu-Cortef injection in case she cannot keep her regular medication down.
Finally a good day again. Back to normal values in blood pressure and heart rate. Back to softball practice. TV interview tomorrow.
Today, she appears fine. works outside in flowerbeds. Blood pressure was fine, heart rate still slightly high. Called specialist in San Antonio. He wants to see her before the August appointment. That's a good thing, I think. Maybe we can get some answers now.
Had to pick her up again today with the same symptoms and problems as yesterday. Heard from her endo today from the call from yesterday. Says that they symptoms have nothing to do with Addison's to call primary physician. Called primary physician, said to take her to Texas Children's ER. Today blood pressure was normal but heart rate was high. Going to watch her and see how she progresses.
Today, had to pick Kyra up from school early with elevated blood pressure but regular heart rate. She was "weak" adn "tired" stating that she felt like her legs were going to fall out from under her. Contemplating taking her to the emergency room but which one to take her to? How do I know that they have treated Addison's pateints before? She was doing so good, what changed? Does she have too much potassium in her body?
