How it all started...
A little about me...
Dec 2010,
Hello, my name is Kyra and I have adrenal insufficiency called Addison’s disease. I am 11 years old and this disease is usually found in adults (40+ years old.) Although online, I found statistics stating that one person out of 100,000 people has Addison’s disease in America; however, after speaking with the NADF, I have found that “it is estimated that 10, 000 individuals in the United States have this condition. (This is probably an underestimation.)” Many people have not heard about this disease because its symptoms are very vague. Symptoms include nausea, dizziness, stomach aches, and fatigue which are very similar to hypoglycemia, low blood sugar. The reason I’m giving you all this information is because I’m trying to educate the public and make them aware of the complications of Addison's disease and the seriousness of this disease.
What the N.A.D.F. (National Adrenal Disease Foundation) does is supports the people with adrenal diseases. The money we raise will go to purchase medi-alert bracelets for those who can’t afford them. The money will also go to the N.A.D.F. whose mission is to create awareness, support and education for those who have adrenal diseases. If you would like to sponsor us, we could use your help.
Thank You,
Kyra
My goal is to help save lives through education and medic alerts. If you are in need of more information about Addison's disease or a medic alert, please fill out the form below and someone will get in contact with you soon!
